On March 25, 2009, certain providers received a letter from Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey advising that effective July 1, 2009, we would be implementing changes in our policies and procedures for radiology and echocardiogram services.  Horizon BCBSNJ implemented the Prior Authorization/Pre-service Medical Necessity Determination (PA/MND) program for Echocardiograms, effective July 1, 2009. The Scheduling Assistance Program for Advanced Imaging Services was implemented effective, July 13th, 2009.

Please be advised that implementation of Correct Coding Logic for radiology claims was implemented on September 8, 2009.
